These terms cover your use of the Offline Transcription app for Mac and iOS. By using the app, you agree to them.
What the app does #
Offline Transcription turns audio and video files into text. All of the work happens on your own device.
Free and Pro #
The app is free to download and use. Some features require Offline Transcription Pro, which you can buy in three ways:
- Pro Monthly — a subscription, billed every month
- Pro Yearly — a subscription, billed every year
- Pro Lifetime — a single payment, no renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them. You can cancel at any time in your Apple account settings, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Apple's support article on subscriptions explains how to manage or cancel one.
Payments and refunds #
All purchases go through the App Store. Apple takes the payment, handles renewals, and issues any refunds — we cannot do it for you. To request a refund, use Apple's refund page.
Because purchases are made through the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app.
Your files are yours #
You keep every right to the recordings you transcribe and the transcripts the app produces. We claim nothing, and we never receive them.
About accuracy #
Automatic transcription makes mistakes. Accuracy depends on the recording quality, the language, background noise, accents, and how many people are speaking.
Always check a transcript before you rely on it. Do not use the app as your only source for anything where an error would matter — legal, medical, financial, or safety-related work included. The app is provided as it is, without a guarantee that any transcript will be correct.
Fair use #
Please only transcribe recordings you have the right to transcribe. You are responsible for having permission to record and to process the audio you put into the app, including consent from the people in it where your local law requires it.
Do not try to reverse engineer the app or resell it as your own.
Liability #
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using the app, including lost work or an inaccurate transcript. Some countries do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.
Changes to these terms #
If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms.
